What a blessing it was to know Ken. He was a lifelong learner, and I appreciated his sense of humor. I am grateful for his example of vibrancy and faith.
I've known Ken 55 years. I initially worked with him in the sales office at Howmet, when we were all a "family". Ken was always a professional, with a dry humorous side. He and his secretary, Linda, were a "hoot".
After we both were retired from Howmet our paths crossed often. We both lived in the N.Muskegon area. We both were involved with the Adopt-a-Reader program at Reeths-Puffer, both of us starting at the same time--for at least 20 years. A great experience. We could always catch up.
I bake zucchini bread at Christmas time for friends and family. Ken was one of my favorites to share with. He asked me at first "Why do you do this?" I replied "It makes me feel good to make others feel good". That satisfied him.
It was a real privilege to know Ken (always Mr. Yonker). He will be missed.
