Kenneth A. Anderson's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth A. Anderson, age 95, went to be with his Lord Thursday afternoon, April 9, 2009. Ken was born April 6, 1914 to Verner and Helen (Bandgren) Anderson in Muskegon, and lived most of his life there before moving to Grand Haven in 2002. He was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, and worked at Teledyne Continental Motors for 32 years before retiring in 1972. Ken was a member of Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church in Muskegon, and after moving to Grand Haven he attended Lakeshore Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church. Years ago he was a Connie Mack Baseball coach, having won 96 games in a row. He also worked at the Walker Arena for 35 years, and enjoyed gardening and fishing. On November 23, 1939 Ken married Catherine V. VanDyke. SURVIVORS include his wife Catherine of Grand Haven; 3 children, Danny Lee (Sharon) Anderson of Florida, Bruce Allen (Elizabeth) Anderson of Grand Haven, Mark (Christine) Anderson of Kalamazoo; 1 son-in-law, Roger Hendrick of Grand Haven; 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter, Mary Hendrick; 2 sisters and 1 brother. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 14, at the Allen Avenue Christian Reformed Church with Rev. Robert Bierenga officiating. VISITATION will be 1 hour prior to the service.
