Kenneth L. Sutton, Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Kenneth L. Sutton, Sr., age 81, died Monday morning, September 14, 2009 at the VNS Hospice House. He was born January 7, 1928 in Fremont, MI to John & Alice (Plews) Sutton and had been a life resident of the area. Ken was a WWII U.S. Army veteran, and also served in the U.S Coast Guard and with the Merchant Marines. He was a life time member of the Whitehall American Legion. Ken had owned and operated the Buckboard Bar on E. Broadway for many years; and was a race car driver at area tracks for most of his life. Ken’s favorite saying was “Shake the hand that shook the World”. SURVIVORS include his special friend and partner, Judy Goetz ; 1 son, Ken (Angie) Sutton, Jr. of Muskegon; 3 grandchildren, Kenny Sutton III, Jon Sutton and Jeni Sutton; 1 brother, Roger (Ada) Sutton of AZ, and by 1 sister, Barbara (Jim) Lawhon of OK. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 5:30 PM Monday, September 21, 2009 at The Sytsema Chapel of Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc.,737 Apple Avenue, Muskegon, MI 49442 (231-726-5210) with Pastor John Brown officiating and Military Rites under the auspices of the Whitehall American Legion honor guard VISITATION with Ken’s family will be from 4:30 – 5:30PM Monday, prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to the Disabled American Veterans will be appreciated.
