Kenneth L. "Kenny" Lane's Obituary
Mr. Kenneth L. Lane, age 76, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2008. Kenny was born to LeRoy and Fern (Rogers) Lane on April 9, 1932 in Big Rapids, MI. On October 3, 1953 he married the former Ruth Sokoloski. Kenny was a professional boxer and trainer, who dedicated his life to training the next generation of fighters. He was a member of USA Boxing and the Muskegon Sports Club. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of Muskegon; 4 children, Lori (Rick) Link of Whitehall, Kenneth L. (Jackie) Lane of Las Vegas, NV, Todd (Melody) Lane of Spring Lake and Melody (Ray Peake) Lane of Muskegon; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers, Pearce “Rocky” Lane of Sand Lake, Gordon (Bernice) Lane of Holly, MI, Herman (Diane) McConnell of Big Rapids; 1 sister, Diane (Alfred) Windquist of Lansing; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Roger. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 1:00 P.M. Sunday at Community United Methodist Church (1614 Ruddiman Drive) with Pastor Robert Lynch officiating. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made the Muskegon Area Boxing Club.
