Kent D. Scouten's Obituary
Kent D. Scouten, age 76, passed away April 10, 2018 at his home. He was born on May 17, 1941 in Grand Haven to Kenneth and Cynthia (McFarren) Scouten, and he resided in the area all of his life. Kent worked at Lift-Tech/Shaw Box for 43 years, prior to retiring in 2005. He belonged to Ferry Memorial Reformed Church in Montague, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Hart, MI. Kent enjoyed golf, gardening, hunting, and bowling, having even bowled a 300 game a few years ago. On May 17, 1986 he married the former Darlene (Buttleman) Barnhardt, and she survives him along with his three daughters, Michelle Nelson of Ann Arbor, Sandra Scouten of Hart, and Suzanne Danyluk of Ludington; three step-children, Jeffrey (Denise) Barnhardt, Janet Stevens, and Robert (Dana) Barnhardt; seven grandchildren, Crystal Osbourn, Nikki Danyluk, Olivia Nelson, Kaley Stevens, Owen Barnhardt, Michael and Abbi Bennett; and one great granddaughter, Adalynn Osbourn; brother, Gary (Mona) Scouten; sisters, Karen (Max) Fletcher, and Elise Scouten. Kent was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Clint Scouten; and sister, Lita Sampson. Memorial Services will be announced this summer.
