Wow. Sorry to hear about my cousin Kevin. I remember our family and his family shared a house on Thompson Street in Bluffton - our family on one level and his family on the other. So there were 10 Acre kids crawling or walking about- some babies and the rest just small kids.We all went to school at Bluffton Elementary when we got old enough. I remember Kevin being feisty and always into some new adventure. He was good at finding things to break, like windows and rules. At some point, Kevin's family moved to Ravenna, and I didn't see much of him after that. Then one day, when I was around 21 and living in Santa Ana, CA, a knock came at the door. I opened it, and there stood Kevin with his dad (my Uncle Jim). They had driven out from Arizona unannounced. Kevin was 18 or 19. They stayed for a couple of days. I was living the party life at the time, and Kevin wanted to hang out and party, but couldn't because he was with his dad and had to go back to Arizona. I didn't see him again until just four years ago during winter. Kevin was living in an old house in Muskegon and fixing cars for work, and I was visiting from CA. Brad brought me over to visit him. Kevin was face-first in a truck engine, unscrewing some strange, oil-covered engine part that only mechanics know the purpose of. He was doing the work that he loved. I guess he was a damned good mechanic because in the short time i was there, standing in the snowy driveway on a frozen day, two other people showed up needing their cars fixed. He said he was overloaded with work, but it was better than not having enough work. We hung out for a little while and planned to spend the next Sunday watching the Super Bowl together, but on Sunday I couldn't go because some emergency came up. Bummer. I would have liked to have spent more time with him. All my love to his family. Cousin Dan Acre
