Kevin Longworth's Obituary
"It was early morning yesterday; I was up before the dawn. I really have enjoyed my stay, but I must be moving on." - Supertramp
We take this opportunity to celebrate the life of Kevin John Longworth, who passed away on August 2, 2024, after a short illness. He leaves behind his wife, Elizabeth; daughter, Laura (Travis) Kinkle; and grandson, Hudson. Sharing in the loss are brother, Rick (Hai) Longworth; sisters, Sandy Weist and Margaret (Richard) Bonenfant; brother-in-law, Donald (Rachel) King; and nieces, Patty, Kim, Amelia, and Sarah. Along with family is life-long dear friend, Rodger Aldrich. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Ellen Longworth and brother Greg.
Kevin spent his life being a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was able to spend the last years of his retirement sharing time with his family creating memories that will be cherished for lifetimes to come. From camping trips, journey to see the eclipse, hiking in the dunes, to backyard barbecues and his own special home brews. Kevin truly tried to seize every opportunity to make those he loved feel that way.
An avid outdoorsman, Kevin enjoyed little more than a beer on the beach of Lake Michigan with friends and those he loved. Often seen as the smartest person in the room, he was a ranked chess player who could challenge the best. Kevin was a lifelong music lover with eclectic taste, and a special love of the blues. The soundtrack of his life will live on through those he touched.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444). To share special memories with the family, please visit www.sytsemafh.com.
