Kevin Scott Parsons' Obituary
Kevin Scott Parsons, age 60, passed away Monday, December 18, 2023, in Muskegon, MI. He was born to Gerald and Marlene (Logan) Parsons in London, Ontario on December 17, 1963. Kevin grew up in Exeter, Ontario and attended South Huron District High School, graduating in 1983. He then attended the University of Windsor (for so long that his family thought he was studying to become a doctor) and eventually graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Geography. He later found his professional calling with a successful career in Sales Management, including periods dealing in agricultural commodities, OEM parts for the automotive industry and later with TSE International, an electrical utility equipment manufacturer.
Reflecting on Kevin’s life, we will remember a man who loved the company of others and was always thinking of ways to make them smile. It was hard to go anywhere where he wouldn’t know somebody. His love for cooking and wine brought joy to the house and the people who gathered with him. He followed in his father’s footsteps by being a kind man who enjoyed himself regardless of situation and never took life too seriously. Kevin’s family and friends, on both sides of the border, meant the world to him.
Kevin leaves behind his wife, Laurie Anne Butler; stepdaughter, Ashley (Matthew) Tobin; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Quinn Tobin; mother, Marlene Parsons; brothers, Randy (Marcy) Parsons and Wayne (Kelly) Parsons; His Godsons Jamie (Jess) Parsons, Mason Parsons, Christopher Patterson and Kevin Stewart; and several other nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerry Parsons (2022) and sister-in-law, Brenda Pinder Parsons (2019).
A Celebration of Kevin’s Life will be held at a later date, in 2024. Memorial Contributions in Kevin’s honor can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, Gilda’s Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, or a charity of your choice.
Godspeed KP.
