Kevin J. Prindable's Obituary
Kevin J. Prindable, a long-time resident of Muskegon, MI, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the age of 55. He was born in Belleville, IL on August 17, 1967 to Charles and Dorothy (Bertelsman) Prindable. Kevin, a beloved husband and father, is survived by his wife of 33 years, the former Sandra Lynn Cox; two sons, Alec and Eli; five siblings, Tina (Todd) Surber, Linda (Daniel) Davis, Jodie (Dave) Coughlin, Jay (Andie) Prindable, and Stephanie (Patrick) Meek; two sisters-in-law: Jennifer Prindable and Deborah (James) Morton; parents-in-law, Wendell and Carol Cox; numerous nieces and nephews; and his faithful dog, Boomer, or as Kevin liked to call him, “Sweetbutt”. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Dorothy Prindable; brother, Scott Prindable; and sister, Jennifer Prindable. Kevin graduated from Belleville West in 1985 and was an alumni of Murray State University, where he met his wife, Sandy. From there he earned a job with General Electric and built a long and successful career in GE Aviation that lasted over 30 years. As he moved up the ranks, Kevin and Sandy also moved multiple times across the U.S. while raising their two sons, Alec and Eli. Kevin was always proud to be a GE Aviation employee, but his biggest and proudest accomplishments were his wife and children. One of Kevin’s favorite places that he lived in was none other than Muskegon, MI which he referred to as “God’s Country”. There he enjoyed beautiful Lake Michigan and the woods outside his back porch where he would look out for Big Foot with his fur-buddy, Boomer. In his free time, Kevin enjoyed spending time with friends at Pigeon Hill, watching sports and the Discovery Channel, and anything to do with Ford Mustangs and trucks. He was known for his quick wit, his friendly and lighthearted demeanor, and his kind and compassionate spirit. No matter what city they were living in at the time, Kevin and his family always made the best of the area. Enjoying the landscape around them like the beaches in Jacksonville, FL, Wilmington, NC, and Southern California or watching thunderstorms roll in from the plains of Arkansas City, Kansas and Dayton, Ohio. Each city brought the opportunity to enjoy sporting events with the boys, discover the local watering hole and make lifelong friends along the way. A Celebration of Life will be held for Kevin on Sunday, June 4, from 1-4 PM at The Brewers Lounge at Pigeon Hill, 895 4th St, Muskegon, MI, 49440. Kevin will be buried at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery in Belleville, IL, at 10:30 AM on August 17. The family would like to extend special thanks to all the staff members at The Poppen House who cared for Kevin and the family. In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to the Harbor Hospice Foundation. Arrangements by the Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St, Norton Shores, MI, 49444.
