Kimberly A. "Kim" Dailey's Obituary
Kimberly A. “Kim” Dailey, age 61, passed away at home Wednesday, February 7, 2024, surrounded by her loving family after courageously battling cancer. She was born on October 30, 1962, to Edward and Barbara (Ryefield) Whelan in Elgin, IL, but Michigan became home early on in life. She graduated from Oakridge High School and continued her education at Baker College where she earned her associate's degree. Kim worked for various companies throughout the years, but she worked at Cole’s Bakery for the last five years. On October 24, 1986, she married the love of her life, Duane Dailey Sr. Together they cherished 28 years full of love and laughter. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2015. Kim had a knack for arts and crafts and enjoyed making Halloween costumes for her children and made her own clothing as well. She was an avid reader and enjoyed getting lost in a new novel. Kim loved supporting her sons through Oakridge youth football, where she dedicated numerous years as a treasurer. Above all things, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandkids. She will always be remembered as a loving mom, doting grandma, wonderful sister and dear friend to so many. Kim is survived by her two sons, Duane (Miranda) Dailey Jr. and James Dailey; five grandchildren, Aubrey, Gavin, Lucas, Scarlett and Ayla; two brothers; and five sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; and loving husband. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with a visitation one-hour prior at the funeral home. A Visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00 PM on Monday, February 12, 2024, at the funeral home.
