We will always remember Kurt for how he cared for others in his life- his family, teachers, drivers and students. Every year on the first day of school, he would pop into every classroom to be sure every child knew how they were getting home. About 10 kids would usually raise their hand. When they told him their name, Kurt would say something like, “You live on 19 Mile, your driver is Paul and you ride bus 19,” without even checking his list. He personally cared for others in tough situations. Please know we are thinking of Linda and family during this time.
Oh, so many memories having grown up in the Kent City Bus Garage! Kurt had the best sense of humor and always had something witty to say. He was a natural at making people laugh and smile! He would always buy me snacks after school while I waited for my mom to finish her work in the bus garage and I would always enjoy looking at all of the stuff in his office. He will forever be a legend in this district and deserves to be because of his genuine, caring heart. Our hearts are with The Johnson Family 🩷 May all of your loving memories with him help you through this difficult time. He will be truly missed by all that were blessed to have known him
Kurt was an amazing, vibrant man. As a principal in Kent City in the past I was always impressed with his zest for life, his dedication to kids and families, and of course, his humor. There will never be another Kurt Johnson! He left a great legacy within the Kent City Community!
I have so many good memories as he was my baby brother, but always remember as soon as we got off the bus rushing in to watch the Mickey Mouse Club. Going to miss him so much but know he is at peace. 💔
