Lambert Namminga's Obituary
Lambert Namminga, age 77, passed away unexpectedly after a short illness. He was born February 24, 1943 in Yankton, SD to Andrew and Hattie (Wieten) Namminga. On October 18, 1963 he married the love of his life, the former Mary A. Nummerdor in Muskegon and she sadly preceded him in death on March 22, 2020. Lambert worked as a construction foreman for the JD Bouwkamp Company, worked as an LPN for a psychiatric hospital, and was a jack of all trades. He loved woodworking, traveling, camping, reading fiction, gardening and doing yardwork, and spending 4 months of the year in Texas with his wife, Mary. Lambert was a member of Unity Reformed Church where he had been active as a Sunday School Superintendent, Cadet leader, Deacon, Elder, the XYZ Senior Group, CROSS group, as well as attending monthly breakfasts. SURVIVORS include 2 children: Daniel Namminga and Sarah (Tom Gerou) Pierce; grandson, Allen Jared Pierce; sisters-in-law: Beth and June Namminga; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Jan Palsrok. He was also preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Susan Namminga; and 2 brothers: Donald and Allen Namminga. SERVICES for Lambert and Mary will be held 1:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2020 at Unity Reformed Church (1521 Porter Rd., Muskegon, MI 40441) with Pastor Dave Celeskey officiating. VISITATION with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place in Sunrise Memorial Gardens next to his wife, Mary. MEMORIALS to Western Michigan Christian High School Memorials or Unity Reformed Church will be appreciated.
