LaMyrna L. Loss' Obituary
LaMyrna (Draggoo) Loss died in Muskegon, Michigan on Sunday, January 21, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband John C. Loss in 2016. She was born on July 23, 1934 in Muskegon, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents Earl and Melba (Wade) Draggoo, and her brother Terrence (Hertha) Draggoo. Throughout her life, she remained very close to her aunt and uncle Carl and Jane Wade, who also predeceased her, and her Wade cousins, Shaun and Kim with Brianne, Theresa with Zackrie, Mara, Laurie, and Tim, who survive her. She is also survived by nieces, Edie Bosie and LaMyrna (Gary) Roberts. She is also survived by brother-in-law, Ted (Lynn) Forward, special niece, Kaye Sheaffer, and many other nieces and nephews. LaMyrna was artistic. She played the piano beautifully, painted, and drew. She and John, an architect, also collected art in addition to displaying her own works. At one point, when they lived in the Detroit area, she worked as an artist who painted artificial eyes. Her patients were extremely grateful that she devoted much care and attention to matching their eyes and giving them a natural appearance. This level of personal observation and reflection characterized all aspects of her life, and she was attentive to her own and John’s extended family. She remained a devout Catholic her entire life; she and John supported St. James school, Montague, and she was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. They faithfully tended the many family graves at St. Michael Catholic Church, Brunswick, Michigan. LaMyrna was known for her love of the color pink, especially her particular shade of pink lipstick, to which her younger female cousins aspired. She and John were known for arriving at summer gatherings at grandma’s house in their VW Karmann Ghia with the top down, the little dog on LaMyrna’s lap. She wore her signature pink blouse and white trousers, pink lipstick in place. The FUNERAL MASS will be held 10:00 AM Friday, January 26, 2024 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Kyle J. Kilpatrick presiding. VISITATION will be one hour prior to mass. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery of Brunswick, MI. MEMORIALS to St. Michael Catholic Church of Brunswick will be appreciated.
