Lane Arden Humphreys' Obituary
Lane Arden Humphreys, age 75, passed away on October 19, 2024. Lane was born March 26, 1949, to Clare and Dorothy (France) Humphreys in Grand Haven, Michigan. Lane graduated from Fruitport High School in 1967. He loved auto mechanics in high school and decided to pursue a career in that field. He proudly owned and operated Lane’s Auto Repair in Fruitport for many years. He was passionate about cars and motorcycles and collected many of both over the years. Lane was also passionate about hunting and proudly displayed his trophies in his home. When not hunting, or out for a ride on his Harley, Lane could be found enjoying a Green Bay Packers game or a NASCAR race. Lane will be remembered by his friends and family as a storyteller and jokester. Lane is survived by his brothers, William (Maggie) Humphreys Sr., Glenn (Meredith) Humphreys, and Mark D. (Christine) Humphreys; nieces and nephews, Mark W. Humphreys, Theresa (James) Humphreys-Oswald, Julee (Richie) Humphreys, William Humphreys Jr., James Humphreys, Michael (Shannon) Humphreys, Terry Humphreys, Cindy Priester, Jennifer Mo, and Abby (Brian) Shutter; and many great nieces and great-nephews. He had numerous friends, and his closest friendships were lifelong. Lane is preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Dorothy Humphreys; and his wife, Kerry Humphreys. Lane’s final resting place will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Fruitport. There will be a short Graveside Service at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 25, 2024. Immediately following, a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held from 3-5 PM at one of Lane’s favorite hangouts, the Village Diner in Fruitport.
