Lane Stanford White Jr.'s Obituary
Lane Stanford White, Jr., age 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, May 31, 2018. He was born on March 29, 1962 to Lane, Sr. and Rose Marie (Eilers) White in Shelby, MI. Lane was an active father and dedicated family man who coached sports teams, mentored in golf, watched and supported The Arts, volunteered along with many other things. Lane was the one everyone could count on no matter what time of day. Lane was a passionate sports enthusiast who loved golf, fishing, volleyball, the outdoors, music, art, family, home projects, among several other things. After working 32 years in the public school system as the Director of Technology, he happily retired in 2017. Lane was well respected amongst his peers and was a visionary in his field. On October 9, 1987 he married the former Jill Renee VanderWall and they spent 30 happy years together; she survives him along with his children, Logan, Kendyl, Mitchell; mother, Rose Marie White; siblings, Cindy (White) Gillard, Mike White; nieces and nephews, Autumn, Grant, Raelyn, Morgan, Lane, Bryan, Jackie, Jonathan, Eric, Kelsey, Connor, Kayla; mother-in-law, Kay VanderWall; siblings-in-law, Jay (Carolyn) VanderWall, Jody Hanson; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Lane S. White, Sr. and father-in-law, Joel VanderWall. A MEMORIAL SERVICE for Lane will take place on Monday, June 4, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100 at 1:00 PM with visitation taking place one hour prior to the service. For a more lasting memory, donations in Lane’s name can be made to either the Mona Shores Education Foundation, Grand Valley Men’s Golf or the Muskegon Civic Theatre.
