Mr Lane Stanford White Sr.'s Obituary
Mr. Lane Stanford White Sr., age 77 passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Mercy hospital. Lane was born January 24, 1937 to Henry and Estella (Evans) White in Gary, IN. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. On July 9, 1960 he married the former Rose Marie Eilers and together they raised 3 children. Lane was a member of the N.R.A., treasurer of Muskegon Pistol Club, a member of Muskegon Rotary and Knights of Columbus. He was a knowledgeable self-taught man who enjoyed troubleshooting any issue before him. He loved hunting and fishing, camping, restoring classic cars, collecting and repairing guns, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was employed at GTE for over 30 years starting as an installer and working his way up to division manager retiring in the early 1990’s. Lane is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rose Marie (Pat); his children, Cindy Gillard, Lane (Jill) White Jr., and Michael White; grandchildren, Autumn, Grant, Logan, Kendyl, Mitchell, Morgan, Lane Thomas and Raelyn; brothers, Pat (Marlene) White and Henry (Kim) White; sisters, Linda Titus and Micki White; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Carl Titus. A family celebration will be held to honor his life at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Johnson Family Cancer Center or Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and may be sent to The Lee Chapel 6291 S. Harvey St. 231-798-1100.
