Larry Augustson's Obituary
Mr. Larry Augustson, age 69, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016 at home. He was born December 18, 1946 in Detroit to Heino and Marion (Koski) Augustson. On July 13, 1984 he married Josy Johnson in Fruitport.
Larry served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was an avid bowler and bowled on many teams over the years. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing and was a talented woodworker.
He is survived by his wife, Josy; two daughters: Kandi (Matt) Matheny of Fruitport, and Erica Savage of Grand Haven: eight grandchildren: Brittany, Bobbi Jo, Aspen, JJ, Kyleigh, Madison, Shawnie, Stevie; and three great-grandchildren: Alexis, Aubrie, Zephyr. He is also survived by his mother, Marion Bohannon; in-laws, Eugene and Betty Johnson; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Denny (Rhonda) Johnson, Judy Johnson, Richard (Jenny) Johnson, Lois (Joe) Johnson-Watts; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Heino; and brother, Ronald Augustson.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, June 24, 2016 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery.
