Larry Carvey's Obituary
Mr. Larry Carvey, age 76, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018. He was born on May 23, 1942 to Harold and Catherine (Barsema) Carvey in Muskegon. Larry proudly served his country while in the United States Marines Corps from 1961-1965. On August 31, 1973, he married the former Jan Emlaw in Muskegon and she survives him. Larry retired from Lift-Tech International where he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed watching Michigan and Detroit teams play and tried to make it to all Muskegon Big Red football games. Larry liked to stay busy and could usually be found tinkering in the garage or keeping his lawn in top shape. Larry’s four grandchildren meant the world to him and he always enjoyed his time spent with them. Larry will be deeply missed by his wife of 45 years, Jan; daughters, Kristy Carvey and Kelly (Chris) Mundt; grandchildren, Jalen Burks, and Benjamin, Alyson and Josalyn Mundt; siblings, Eleanor Daniels and Ken (Joyce) Carvey; sister-in-law, Carol Carvey; and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bob Carvey. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 11AM at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd., 49441, 231-759-8656. Visitation with the family will be Monday, October 22 from 6-8PM. Memorial contributions in Larry’s name may be made to The Muskegon Humane Society or Muskegon Big Red Football Program.
