Larry E. Grenell's Obituary
Larry E. Grenell - age 86 of Muskegon, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born on September 1, 1934 in Muskegon, MI to the late Orin and Mae (Bell) Grenell. After graduating from High School, Larry joined the U.S. Air Force as a radio operator and proudly served our country from 1952 to 1956. He then married Lona Grenell (Slamkowski) on December 1, 1962. Larry was a Master Electrician with Newkirk Electric in Muskegon for many years, often traveling for work, which he enjoyed. Larry was instrumental in working on many Consumers Energy Power Plant builds and upgrades, overseeing all electrical work. He enjoyed golfing, having cookouts with friends and family, and spending time with his family. Larry is forever remembered and deeply missed by his daughter, Lisa (Bob Griffin); son, Larry Grenell Jr. (Duke); and daughter, Lora Hagstrom; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Jack Grenell; He was preceded in death by his wife, Lona; brother, Dick Grenell and brother, Ron Grenell. Visitation will take place at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 on Monday, May 10 from 6:00 to 8:00PM. There will be a Private Family Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 11 with burial at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Full Military Rites to be performed by the United States Air Force Reserve.
