Larry G. Mayette's Obituary
Larry Gene Mayette, age 81, passed away on October 8, 2018 at a local hospital. He was born on March 13, 1937 to Walter and Bessie (Scraver) Mayette in Muskegon. Larry worked 40 years for CWC Textron and was a union representative for many years. He was a member of American Legion, Tatra Hall and the Lithuanian Club. Larry loved his dog, Gunner, spending time with his grandchildren, card night, casino bus trips and was a Detroit Tigers fan. In Larry’s down time he also enjoyed walking the beach and walks in the woods. On July 27, 1963, he married Donna Doctor and she preceded him in death on May 4, 2005. SURVIVORS include his children, Larry Mayette Jr., Pamela (Kurt) Dykman, Michael (Kelly) Mayette, and David (Leslie) Mayette all of Muskegon; foster daughter, Lisa (Michael) Coppola of Manistee; 7 grandchildren, Nicholas, Jadyn, and Jordan Dykman, Kendall (Donovan) Johnson, Logan, Cody, and Courtney Mayette; 1 great-granddaughter; Ai’ana; brothers, Phil Mayette and Walter Mayette Jr.; sister, Mary Lou Piszczeck. He was also preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly Backensto. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, October 12, 2018 at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., 231-798-1100 with Pastor John H. Brown officiating. VISITATION with the family will be 6-8PM on Thursday. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. Memorial Contributions to Johnson Family Cancer Center and Muskegon County Department of Veteran’s Affairs.
