Larry F. Rogers' Obituary
Larry Floyd Rogers, age 77, passed away at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. He was born on December 10, 1942 to Clarence and Clarabelle (Wahr) Rogers in Muskegon. Larry graduated from Muskegon Catholic Central High School and went to work for Sealed Power. He also owned the R and L Zephyr station in Fruitport. He eventually went on to be a machinist at Screw Machine Specialties where he later retired. Larry was also a very active member of the Fruitport Lions Club for over 13 years. He was known around the community as “Lion Larry”. You could always spot him in his vest at many Lions functions throughout the years. He especially enjoyed it when his family and granddaughters would attend these events. Larry is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rozine Rogers; daughters, Kristie Lynn (Nick) Verburg; Kelly Sue (Tim Schulz) Rogers; two granddaughters, Haley Verburg and Sydney Verburg; two brothers: Terry (Avis) Rogers; Gary (Janet) Rogers and sisters-in-law Julie Rogers and Joyce Rogers also his buddies, Bailey and Thor. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Clarabelle Rogers; two brothers; Harold Rogers Sr. and Robert “Bob” Rogers, sister-in-law, Candy Rogers; nieces, Bobbie Sue Rogers and Connie Jo Rogers; and two granddogs, Rev and Chase. A LIMITED SIZE VISITATION for Larry will take place on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 from 9:30–11:00 AM at the Lee Chapel of the Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, 231-798-1100, with a private family service to follow.
