Laura M. Grimard's Obituary
Mrs. Laura M. Grimard, age 88, passed away on October 28, 2015. She was born on May 7, 1927 to John and Etta (Ross) Seaney in Ludington. Laura was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church and was past president of the Derezinski Post #7729. She was employed as a cook at Oakridge Public Schools, retiring in 1988. Laura enjoyed quilting, gardening and was a wonderful cook. She was devoted to her family, and blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On August 30, 1947 she married James V. Grimard, the love of her life, and after 64 years of marriage he passed away on January 6, 2012. SURVIVORS include her children, Mary (Joseph) Brunais, Diane (Gary) Wilson, Thomas (Sheila), Joseph (Juanita), Sharon (Joseph) Calkins, Richard (Sharon) and Daniel; 20 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; siblings, James (Rita) Seaney, Donald Seaney, Ronald (Violet) Seaney and Paul (Sheila) Seaney and daughter-in-law, Kathleen Dempsey. She was also preceded in death by her son, James Jr., in May of this year, brother, Robert Seaney and sister, Shirley Sims. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 3252 Apple Ave. with Rev. Fr. Antony Britto presiding. VISITATION with the family will be 5-7 PM Monday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial donation to St. Thomas Catholic Church. BURIAL will take place at St. James Cemetery in Montague.
