Laurence w. "Larry" Corcoran's Obituary
Laurence W. Corcoran, age 85, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2020 at his home. He was born October 14, 1934 in Cambridge, MA to Theobald and Anna (Donovan) Corcoran and lived most of his life in the Muskegon area. Larry earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration at Boston College and worked 32 years as an inventory manager and customer services for SD Warren Papermill retiring in 1994. On August 9, 1969, he married Nancy Louise Curthoys in Buffalo, NY. Larry was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he volunteered many years for Sunday morning fellowship. He also volunteered at Muskegon Catholic Central High School. Larry was the treasurer of the local Boy Scouts. He was an amateur meteorologist and especially enjoyed following the stock market very closely. Survivors include his loving wife of 51 years, Nancy L. Corcoran; 2 children, Kathleen Varboncoeur, Kevin (Stephanie Krus) Corcoran; 2 twin granddaughters, Hannah and Sarah Varboncoeur; 1 brother, Bob (Maureen) Corcoran; 1 brother-in-law, Paul Hennigan; and 1 sister-in-law, Theresa Corcoran. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Paul and Richard Corcoran, and 2 sisters, Claire Corcoran and Elaine Hennigan. Due to the current restrictions related to COVID-19 concerning social distancing, the Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated privately at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
