Lavisa McPherson's Obituary
Mrs. Lavisa McPherson, age 85, of Nunica passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024. She was born June 21, 1938, in Kalkaska, to Clifford and Dorothy (Sweet) Udell. On August 17, 1956, she married Gerald “Wayne” McPherson and he passed away September 18, 2005 after 49 years of marriage. On July 9, 2007, she married Leon McPherson in Grand Haven.
Lavisa enjoyed square dancing and was a member of the Grand Haven Wheelers and the Nunica Flutter Wheelers. She volunteered at North Ottawa Community Hospital and also with the Forgotten Man Ministries. Lavisa was a member of the DeColores family and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Leon; three children: Lyssa Grabman of Muskegon, Rhonda (John) Martin of Tennessee, and Terry (Gail) McPherson of Virginia; ten grandchildren; thirty-five great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren; four stepchildren; and sister, Dorothy Pendleton; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her two sons, Jeffrey, and Jonathon McPherson; two grandchildren, Sean Storey and Tim Botbyl.
A celebration of life will take place 3-8 PM Sunday, July 14, 2024, at Rycenga Park. Memorial contributions in memory of Lavisa may be given to Westshore DeColores or Harbor Hospice Foundation. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at http://www.sytsemafh.com.
