LaVon Elaine Meisch's Obituary
LaVon Elaine Meisch, age 73, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Muskegon, MI. She was born February 1, 1951, in Muskegon to Henry and Henrietta (Hendricks) VanderMolen. LaVon graduated from Western Michigan Christian High School in 1969 and then obtained an associate’s degree from Muskegon Community College. On March 5, 1977, LaVon married Richard “Dick” Meisch and he preceded her in death on April 10, 2020. LaVon worked in accounting at Neway Anchorlok/SAF Holland, Payroll Resolutions, and Timberland Charter Academy before retiring in 2016.
LaVon loved to take walks while enjoying God’s artistry at work. She was an avid reader, bowler, and golfer. She was active with Fellowship Church, most recently as part of the Friendship Group and her Women’s Bible Study. LaVon loved family vacations to Florida and spending time with her dog Patches, her family, and especially her grandchildren.
LaVon will be lovingly remembered by her children, Jason (Allison) Meisch, Laura (Joel) Hoekema and Nicole (Chase) Eisenlohr; grandchildren, Timothy, Ryan and Kelsey Meisch, Levi and Lane Hoekema, and Reid, Declan and Myles Eisenlohr; brother, Richard (Jane Devries) VanderMolen; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Along with her husband, Dick, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Henrietta, sister, Janice VanderMolen and sister-in-law Ruth VanderMolen.
VISITATION with the family will take place 6-8 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2024, at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services (6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444). A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Fellowship Church (4200 E. Apple Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442) with VISITATION with the family 1 hour prior to the service. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS in honor of LaVon may be directed to Fellowship Church. Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services is honored to be serving the Meisch family.
