LaWanda Thomas' Obituary
Mrs. LaWanda Thomas, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Heartwood Lodge. She was born April 14, 1926 in Grand Haven to Cornelius and Henrietta (Raglin) De Haan. LaWanda was the widow to the late Joseph Thomas.
LaWanda enjoyed her work in manufacturing, and being a waitress at several restaurants. She also liked spending time bowling and roller skating in her younger years and loved animals. For over the last twenty years she lived at Pinewood Place in Grand Haven. LaWanda was also a former member of the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post 2326 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Lois and LaVerne, two brothers, Wallace and Cornelius, Jr. She is survived by many special nieces and nephews and friends.
In keeping with LaWanda's wishes there will be no service at this time. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. Memorial contributions in memory of LaWanda may be given to Harbor Humane Society. Please sign the family’s online guestbook at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
