Lawrence "Twig" Broton's Obituary
Lawrence “Twig†A. Broton age 95, of Ravenna died Thursday, June 16, 2011 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Twig was born on June 3, 1916 in Sullivan Twp, MI to the late Lanson and Annie K. (Shavalier) Broton. He married Maxine on October 1, 1938 in South Bend, Indiana. He served in the United States Army.
Twig is survived by: 1 Son: Tony (Marilyn) Broton of Ravenna, 2 Daughters: Julie (Larry) Waclawski of Rockford and Lori Broton of Ravenna. 16 Grandchildren, 23 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 1 Sister in-law Virginia Young of Ravenna. Also Buddy the dog.
Twig was preceded in death by Parents, Wife Maxine, 2 Sons: Bruce and Wayne. 4 Brothers: John, Abe, James and Lanson. 2 Sisters: Mae Botruff and Mary Pennell.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 11:00am at the Ravenna United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathon Rager officiating. Burial will follow at Ravenna Township Cemetery.
The family will be at the Throop Funeral Home of Ravenna on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 2 to 4pm & 6 to 8pm to receive friends and again on Monday at the church from 10am until the time of service.
Memorials may be directed to the family or the Ravenna Lions Club.
