Mr. Lawrence Alvin McRoberts' Obituary
Lawrence Alvin McRoberts, 85, of 221 Potter Street, Alpena, passed away at The Pines, Alpena, on Tuesday, October 02, 2012. Lawrence was born in Marion, Indiana on June 30, 1927 to the late Homer and Vera (Post) McRoberts. He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II and had been employed as a telephone construction supervisor with Verizon, retiring in 1983. On September 30, 1950 he married Wanda Wright; she preceded him in death on February 12, 1987. On January 9, 1989 he married Doreen Pastor, and she preceded him in death March 30, 2011. Mr. McRoberts was a member of the Free Methodist Church and V.F.W. Alpena Post 2496. Surviving are 4 children, Valerie (James) Barnett, Bradley (Billi) McRoberts, Lynette (Barry) Adams, Brent McRoberts; 4 grandchildren, Shannon (Carlos) Vivero, Stephanie (Chris) Davis, Marco Williams, Adrian Williams; and 2 great-grandchildren, Zander Vivero and Logan Williams. Also preceding him in death were a son-in-law, James Williams; 2 brothers, Keith, Lavern; and 1 sister, Dorcas Root. Mr. McRoberts is at the Bannan Funeral Home where family and friends may call on Friday from 2-8 p.m. VISITATION in Muskegon will be Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2-8 PM at

A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the First Wesleyan Church (1040 E. Forest Ave.) with Rev. Michael Schultz officiating, and VISITATION one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Free Methodist Church/Alpena or Hospice of Michigan.
