Lawrence Winslow's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence Winslow, age 71, of Grayling passed away Friday, December 20, 2013 in Traverse City. He was born March 13, 1942 in Grand Rapids to Lloyd A. and Carolyn (Carley) Winslow.
Mr. Winslow was a graduate of Grand Haven High School and Muskegon Community college and worked as a purchasing agent for Shell Oil for over 17 years. He was a volunteer with Community Mediations Services of Crawford County and was a member of the Kiwanis in Grayling. He and his wife Virginia loved to travel and camp in their fifth-wheel and met numerous friends all over the country.
On September 1, 1962 he married the former Virginia Veurink in Muskegon and she survives him along with 2 children, Larry Jr. (Jennifer) Winslow of Norton Shores, and Marjorie (John) Kulba of Granger, IN; 2 grandchildren, Curtis and Cathlyn; 1 sister, Nancy Starks of Durham, NH., 1 brother-in-law, Richard Veurink of Norton Shores; 8 special cousins and good friends David and Mary Lautenschlaeger. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd A. Winslow; mother and step-father, Carolyn and Edward Spoelman.
Funeral services for Mr. Winslow will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2013 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Scott Church officiating. Visitation will be 2-5 PM Friday, December 27, 2013 at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in Lake Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in memory of may be given to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
