Mr. Lawrence D. Poulson, age 78, passed away Thursday, August 30, 2007, at the Harbor Hospice Poppen Residence. He was born July 2, 1929 in Muskegon to James H. and Lillian M. (Leas) Poulson and lived his entire life in the area. Read Obituary
I am very sorry for your loss. I worked with Larry for a few years in the 1980's at South Shore High School.
He was so nice, friendly, a wonderful teacher, and had a great sense of humor.
I had not seen Larry in many years, but I will always remember his kind smile.

I First met Larry (and Alice) when I married Dale Vos, Larry's nephew, in 1978. We named our son, Gabriel Lawrence, after Larry. I have memories of holiday dinners at Larry and Alice's home. We moved to TN in 1988, and continued to keep in touch. After Dale and I divorced in 1991, Larry continued to keep in touch with me and my children, Gabe and Amanda, through letters, cards, and visits to MI. Larry never forgot Gabe and Amanda's birthdays, and other special occasions. Larry was a caring, kind, and generous person. I will keep the Poulson and Vos families in my prayers. Dear Poulson Family,
I worked with Larry at Muskegon Public Schools in his Special Ed Classrooms. He was really a neat guy & the students loved him. He was so patient with them & was always their friend & mentor. I enjoyed his sense of humor, too. Larry was a big part of doing the "trailblazing" with Special Education. We certainly need more teachers like him!! We will miss you, Larry.
