Lawrence E. "Larry" Ward's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence E. “Larry” Ward, age 68, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, August 25, 2004 at a local hospital. He was born March 17, 1936 in Traverse City, MI to Ralph and Edna (Chandler) Ward and lived in the Muskegon area most of his life. On April 24, 1954, he married the former Carol J. Beerman in Muskegon and they just celebrated 50 years of marriage. He attended Crestwood United Methodist Church in Muskegon. SURVIVORS include his wife, Carol; 7 children, Lawrence E. (Rachelle) Ward, Jr., Karen (Patrick) Hoolihan, Joseph (Roxanne) Ward, Daniel (Pam) Ward, David (Bobbi) Ward, Patricia (Stanley) Ward, Pamela (John) Espinoza; 18 grandchildren, Lawrence III, Richard, Jamie, Ryan, Daniel II, Samantha, Robert, Alex, Sabrina, Maria, Jennifer, Alyssa, Jesse, Tessa, Crystal, Austin, Sheldon, Chastity; 1 great-grandson, Aaron; 2 brothers, Richard (Sharon) Ward, Dale (Anita) Ward; 2 sisters, Delores (Don) Garrett, Arlene (Ron) Schmuck; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, Robert Ward, and his long-time German Shepherd companion, “Babe” just 3 weeks ago. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 28, 2004 at Crestwood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dianne Doten Morrison officiating. INTERMENT will take place at Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION with Larry’s family will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Sytsema Funeral Home, 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210.
