Lawrence Lloyd Sutton's Obituary
Mr. Lawrence Lloyd Sutton, age 79, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at DaySpring Assisted Living Center. He was born June 18, 1932 to Elgin and Leatha (Gardenour) Sutton in Muskegon. Larry graduated from Muskegon Heights High School. He then received his Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, graduating 2nd in his class. He worked at the All Steak Restaurant in Muskegon Heights all through high school and college. Following graduation, Larry worked building homes in the Muskegon area prior to serving his country in the U.S. Army. Larry then joined GTE as a troubleshooting engineer and worked for 25 years, retiring in the mid-eighties. He enjoyed traveling, computer programming, and being a U of M alumnus. Larry is survived by his son, Bill Sutton of Norton Shores, his former wife, Patricia Panyard; a niece, Kimberly (Robert) Renick; a nephew, Charles (Tess) Sutton; great nieces, Taylor Renick, Tia and Sydney Sutton; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Ron and Iris Sutton; best friend, Don MacGregor; special friend and traveling companion, Irene Blais; as well as his parents. In accordance with his wishes, private family services will be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice Services, Inc. 3230 Eagle Park Dr. NE #200, Grand Rapids, MI 49525.
