Mrs. Leah E. Sieplinga's Obituary
Leah Elizabeth Sieplinga, age 91, entered her heavenly home Friday, October 16, 2015. She was born May 10, 1924, to George and Gertrude Vredeveld in Fremont, MI, where she lived and worked until her marriage to Howard Sieplinga on January 17, 1946. Together Howard and Leah moved to Ann Arbor where Howard received his degree in engineering. They moved to Muskegon and became members of Bethany Christian Reformed Church. Throughout her life Leah ministered to the young and old through her Bible teaching, prayers, and letters. She is survived by her children, Sheryl (Roger) Wiers, Luanne (Donald) DeVries, Harry (Constance) Sieplinga, and Ann (Mark) Sneller; her grandchildren Nathan (Shari) Wiers, Adam (Jessica) Wiers, Aaron (Candice) Wiers, Rebecca (Luke) McConnell, Seth (Kate) DeVries, Max (Sarah) Sieplinga, Eli Sieplinga, Benjamin (Morgan) Sneller, Betsy Sneller; and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, parents, brothers Morris and Glen Vredeveld, and sisters Hazel TenBrink and Jane Dieleman. There will be a visitation at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., Muskegon (MI 49442), 231-726-5210, from 5-8 PM on Tuesday. Burial will take place at Restlawn Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at the Raybrook Chapel, 2121 Raybrook St. SE, Grand Rapids (MI 49546), 616-235-5006, at 4:00 on Wednesday with Pastor David Sieplinga officiating.
