Lee Metzger's Obituary
Lee Metzger, age 82, passed away peacefully at home, on Saturday, February 10, 2024. He was born September 24, 1941, in Muskegon, MI, to Don “Dutch” and Evelyn (Laug) Metzger. He graduated from Muskegon High School in 1960 and went on to serve his country in the United States Air Force. On September 26, 1964, he married Cleo Hosler and they were able to spend 59 wonderful years together. Lee worked for Sealed Power for 33 years, retiring in 1996. During retirement, he enjoyed delivering flowers for over 9 years for Muskegon Floral.
Lee liked being outdoors and enjoyed going fishing or doing yard work. He especially enjoyed spending time at the Muskegon channel and sitting under “Lee’s Tree.” He liked going to casinos, taking rides, and having picnics with family and friends. He also liked getting together with the Kmart friends and playing euchre with Fredly and Dave Inman. Lee loved spending time with family and friends, especially the babies.
Lee will be dearly missed by his wife, Cleo; daughter Lauri (Terry Redmon) Metzger; grandchildren, Teresa (Gary) Livingston, Joe (Kris) Redmon and Jen (Mike) Wambaugh; great-grandchildren, Lance (Tammy) Osborne, Tia (Cameron) McCormick, Eric Redmon, Chad Redmon, Cole Wambaugh and Logan Wambaugh; great-great-grandchildren, Gemma, Isla and Talia; In-laws, Darlene Hosler, Bonnie Dunlap and Anita (Joaquin) DeLosSantos; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Terry Metzger; brothers-in-law, Denny Hosler and Jesse Dunlap.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE will take place from 2 - 4 PM on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Olivet Evangelical Free Church (6790 Harvey Rd., Spring Lake, MI 49456) with Military Honors conducted at 2:15 PM. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be directed to a Charity of your choice.
