Lee Herman Rycenga's Obituary
Lee Herman Rycenga, age 65, of Grand Haven went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at home. He was born January 3, 1958, in Grand Haven to Herman L. and Betty L. (Nuland) Rycenga. He married the former Janet K. Hampton on May 6, 1987, in Grand Haven.
Lee worked at Eagle Ottawa Leather Company for thirty-three years and later at Adient (formerly Johnson Control JCI), in production. He was a member of Life West Church, loved taking walks with Janet, gardening, and most of all spending time with family.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife of thirty-four years, Janet Rycenga; daughter, Tanya Rycenga; son, Todd (Jennifer) Rycenga; five grandchildren, Aiden Rycenga, Adelynn Wells, Jeffrey Mills, Jackson Mills and Layla Mills; his sister, Susan (Jeff Hinkle) Tompkins; his brother, Lyle (Renee’) Rycenga; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Dave Tompkins.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 9, 2023, at The VanZantwick Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services 620 Washington Ave., Grand Haven, MI 49417 with Pastor Jesse Cabrera officiating.
