Lee D. Whipple's Obituary
Mr. Lee D. Whipple, age 89, of Ferrysburg passed away Monday, April 7, 2014 at his home. He was born September 22, 1924 in Grand Rapids to Glenn and Flossie (Rough) Whipple.
For many years before his retirement he co-owned and operated Kent Hills Floral Shop in Grand Rapids. He enjoyed people and going for drives, but most of all he loved tending to his flowers and watching boats go by.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Krystiniak of Grand Rapids and was preceded in death by his sister, Gwendolyn Lantenbach. He is also survived by special members of the Appel family and many friends throughout the Spring Lake area, including neighbors Duane and Arlene DeYoung.
A visitation in his memory will take place 5-7 PM Friday, April 11, 2014 at VanZantwick Bartels Kamemraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Interment will take place in Rosedale Memorial Park in Grand Rapids. Memorial contributions in memory of Lee may be given to a charity of your choice.
