Lee Roy McIntire's Obituary
Mr. Lee Roy McIntire, age 90, passed away Friday evening, April 29, 2011. He was born February 26, 1921 in Lawrenceville, IL to Harvey and Myrtle (Skinner) McIntire. Mr. McIntire was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 76th Infantry Division in Germany as a medic from 1943-1945 and also was a member of the VFW Post 7729. He worked for American Engineering for over 13 years before retiring in 1982 and had also worked for Marathon Oil. Mr. McIntire loved writing and playing country music on his steel guitar and enjoying the outdoors. On March 22, 1983 he married the former Geraldine Jackson-Gonzalas in Whitehall and she preceded him in death in October of 2004. SURVIVORS include 4 children, David Lee (Karen) McIntire of Irons, MI, Barbara Ann (Douglas) Greer of Muskegon, Patricia Lorraine McIntire of Oceanview, CA, Marie (Raymond) McCue of Ravenna; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; 1 step-son and 9 step-daughters; and many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Beatrice McIntire; brother, Melvin McIntire; and sisters, Julia Ellen Franklin, Edna May Draper, and Mary Elizabeth Leach. A GRAVESIDE SERVICE will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at Sunrise Memorial Gardens.
