Leo Joseph Denslow's Obituary
Leo Joseph Denslow, age 86, passed at home, with a smile on his face and surrounded by family on Wednesday, October 13, 2021. He was born November 22, 1934 in Muskegon. His friends and family knew him as a kind, caring and humble servant who never spoke a cross word. He was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Yvonne (Bisson), his infant son and his brother Duane. He is survived by his wife Geri, sisters Donna Hundersmark and Marie Twining, sister-in-law Paula Denslow Martin, 3 brothers-in-law, Jim Weber (Clemz), Bruce DeVore (Deb), Scott Fisher (Kellie), cousin and close friend Mick McMillan, and many cousins, nieces and nephews. His legacy lives on through Suzanne Allore (Gary) with Olivia, Erik (Jamie) and Alex; Erik Denslow (Renee) with Maya, Anna and Eli; Janeé Musselman (Scott) with Brianna Zorn (Brandon) and great-grandson Royce, Stephanie Zorn (Eric), and Alyson Zorn; David Denslow (Yvonne) with Ethan and Alex; Leo Denslow with Ella and Ava; and Carl Denslow. Leo went to school at St Joseph Seminary, Aquinas College, earned his aeronautical engineering degree from Northrop Institute of Technology and MBA from Grand Valley State University. He was a member of Michigan Restaurant Association, past President of Serra, involved with Muskegon Catholic Central fish fries, was an active member of St Francis de Sales and Knights of Columbus and was owner/operator of the family-owned Doo Drop Inn restaurant. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church (2929 McCracken St.) with Rev. Charles D. Hall presiding. Visitation will be held 9:30-11:00 AM Friday at the church. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Kids’ Food Basket, Harbor Hospice Foundation or Bluebird Cancer Retreats.
