Mr. Leo C. Moore's Obituary
Mr. Leo C. Moore, 70, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was born February 22, 1948 to LaVerne and Violet (Dempsey) Moore in Grand Rapids, and lived all of his life in the Muskegon area. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He loved hunting, fishing, spending time at his cabin on Nugent Lake, but especially being with his grandchildren. Leo had been employed at Mastertag in Montague for 25 years before retiring, and had previously worked at Muskegon Paper Box. On April 3, 1971 he married Janice M. Mahoney, and she survives him along with 3 children: Tracy (Larry) Macomber, Lance (Kendra) Moore, Keri Moore; 9 grandchildren: Cody, Melissa, Brad, Kirstynn, Owen, Onaka, Olivia, Kaylynn (Cain), and Kelcey; 1 great-granddaughter: Bellah; his mother: Violet Chamberlain; a half-brother: Dale Moore; a half-sister: Denise Moore. He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers: Verne “Buckey” and Terry; and a sister: Carol. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 18, at 3:00 PM at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210, followed by a luncheon and time of gathering at the VFW at 6285 East Apple Ave. Visitation with the family will be 1 hour prior to the service.
