Leo Joseph Jagnecki's Obituary
Mr. Leo Joseph Jagnecki, age 98, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at the VNS-Hospice Home. He was born April 24, 1911 in Freesoil, MI to Andrew and Hedwic (Kalita) Jagnecki and moved to the Muskegon area in 1945. He married the former Joan Lucille Mladucky in Muskegon. Leo had worked 15 years for the Norge Corp. and later worked 15 years in maintenance for Ruddiman Terrace Housing retiring in 1979. Leo enjoyed spending time with his loving family. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his spare time. He was a long-time member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. SURVIVORS include his wife, Joan; 8 children, Gloria Homeblade of Muskegon, Patricia (David) Crowell of Muskegon, Leo (Sandra) Jagnecki of Twin Lake, Linda Jagnecki of Muskegon, Thomas (Janette) Jagnecki of Twin Lake, David (Debra) Jagnecki of Muskegon, Edward Jagnecki of Twin Lake, Nancy (Lyle) Robbins of Muskegon; 17 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 brother, Stanley Jagnecki of Freesoil. He was preceded in death by 1 granddaughter, Jacquelyn Jagnecki; 1 grandson, Thomas Jagnecki, Jr.; his parents; 5 brothers, Blaise, Gabriel, Anthony, Alex and Daniel; 2 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 1:00 PM Friday, May 1, 2009 at Our of Grace Catholic Church with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as celebrant. ENTOMBMENT will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum. VISITATION with Leo’s family will be 4-6 PM Thursday at The Sytsema Chapel, Sytsema Funeral Homes, Inc., 737 Apple Avenue, (231) 726-5210. The Rosary will be prayed at 6 PM Thursday evening.
