Mrs. Leola May Hain's Obituary
Mrs. Leola May Hain, age 89, passed away in Adrian, MI, on November 23, 2015. Leola was born on February 6, 1926, to George and Leliah (Ainger) Zatzke in Muskegon. On September 28, 1946, she married Edward Hain Jr., and they shared forty-three years of marriage together prior to his death on November 9, 1989. Leola was employed as a postal clerk for the U.S. Postal Service for ten years, retiring in 1977. Prior to that, she was a bus driver for the Whitehall Public Schools. After retiring, she and Ed wintered in Ellenton, FL. She was a lifetime member of White Lake Congregational Church and was a past president of American Legion Auxiliary. Her hobbies included traveling, playing tennis, bridge, and reading. But most of all, she was devoted to her family and their well-being. Leola is survived by her children, Steve (Cindy) Hain of New Braunfels, TX, Kim (Julie) Hain of Wyoming, MI, Robin (Thomas) Borton of Morenci, MI, and Mitchell (De) Hain of Nokomis, FL; grandchildren, Daniel, Caleb, Seth, Micah, Elizabeth, Heidi and Josh; 15 great-grandchildren; and 9 nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her oldest son, Scott, as a result of a tragic accident in 1966; her parents; siblings, Paul Zatzke, Ruth Sharp Sigrist and Bette Rebro. A FUNERAL SERVICE will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 4, 2015, at the White Lake Congregational Church, 1809 S. Mears Ave. in Whitehall, with Co-Pastors Pam and Keith Koebel officiating. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service. The burial will take place in Oakhurst Cemetery. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS may be made to the White Lake Congregational Church or Hospice of Lenawee in Adrian, MI.
