Leola Mae Reeves' Obituary
Leola Mae “Lea” Reeves, age 98, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at home surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on March 1, 1920 to Reuben and Erma (Nelson) Briggs in Grawn, MI. Lea was a member of Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church, where she taught Sunday School and junior church. Prior to retiring in 1988, she worked as an LPN at Mercy Hospital for 25 years. Lea enjoyed sewing and making wedding dresses, baking specialty cakes, but her church and family were her life. In 1940, she married Milton Reeves and he preceded her in death on September 19, 1961. SURVIVORS include her children, Frieda Luzadder, Bud (Phyllis) Reeves, Dorothy Reeves and Bobbi Moore; 9 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, helping raise Cassie, Amber, Brittany and Brooke; and 33 great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 5 brothers, 4 sisters and a great grandson. FUNERAL SERVICES will be 2PM Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church (4283 N. Weber Rd) with Pastor Carl Fanzon officiating. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 PM Friday at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave, (231) 726-5210, and 1 hour prior to the service, from 1-2PM. Burial will take place in E. Dalton Oakhill Cemetery. Memorial Contributions in Lea’s name to Fruitland Evangelical Covenant Church will appreciated.
