Leona M. Harriman's Obituary
Leona M. Harriman, age 90, went home to be with her Lord because of her faith in Jesus on Monday, November 6, 2023, and with the assurance knowing that “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16.
Leona was born on July 11, 1933 in Muskegon to Leo and Ruby (Groner) Mullholland, and resided in the Muskegon area since 2015. She was a long-time member of St. Jude’s Catholic Church in Grand Rapids, and worked for Farm Bureau Insurance for 30 years before retiring in 1998. Leona was warm hearted, and known for her thoughtful and personal gestures. Leona’s passion for knitting and crocheting beautiful afghans brought joy to her loved ones. She was known for her warm hugs, and her presence was cherished by her family and friends, as she left a positive and heartful impact on their lives.
On June 2, 1956, she married Maurice Harriman and together they spent 54 years together before he preceded her in death on May 14, 2010. SURVIVORS include her children, Thomas (Sandra) Harriman, Dr. Gerald (Nancy) Harriman, Raymond Harriman; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Charles (Judy) Mulholland and many very special and supportive nieces and nephews. Leona was also preceded in death by her parent’s, and several brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank the staff of Harbor Hospice for their excellent care, and Sanctuary of the Oaks for going above and beyond in their care of Leona.
FUNERAL SERVICES will be 10:30 AM Friday, November 10, 2023 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St. Norton Shores, MI 49444 (231) 798-1100. VISITATION with the family will be from 10—10:30 AM Friday prior to the service. Memorial Contributions in Leona’s name to the Harbor Hospice Foundation will be appreciated.
