Leona Louise Moore's Obituary
Mrs. Leona Louise Moore, age 87, formerly of Northville, Michigan, passed away peacefully, on Saturday November 12, 2022, at her home on North Lake in Twin Lake, Michigan with her family nearby. She was born at her family’s home in Twin Lake, Michigan on May 11, 1935 to Lewis and Helen Marie (Barrs) Springer. Leona was formerly married to Tom Moore where they raised their 3 children in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Leona enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Nomad Traveling Group of Northville. She traveled across the world, including China, Australia, Africa, Europe, Alaska, and other locales. She also enjoyed art, fashion and interior decorating. In addition, she was an avid bowler and enjoyed golf. However, nearest to her heart, were the times spent with her family on the beaches of Clearwater, Florida and the ski slopes out West.
Leona was a loving mother and grandmother, and she cherished time spent with her family. She is survived by two children, Kim (Mark) Zabroske and Todd (Anne Marie) Moore; six grandchildren, Justin (Heather) Moore, Ryan (Lindsay Brown) Zabroske, Lauren Zabroske, Morgan (Trey) Strickland, Joshua (Melissa) Moore, and Elena Moore; two great-grandchildren, Kylee Moore and Ford Strickland; sister, Eloda Moran and brother, Tom (Carol) Springer. She is also survived by her son’s widow, Kelly Fox, and devoted family friends, David (Rosemary) Bousfield. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas “Tommer” C. Moore; her parents; siblings, Lois Cooper, Beverly Cline, Lewis “Louie” Springer, and Walter Springer; her former husband, Tom C. Moore; her step-granddaughter, Amy Bousfield; and longtime companion Donald Davidson.
SERVICES will be Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 AM at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444 with VISITATION one hour prior to her service. Burial will be in Twin Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
