Mrs. Leona R. Stube's Obituary
Mrs. Leona R. Stube, 94, passed away early Saturday, April 19, 2014, at her home. Born January 22, 1920 in Grand Rapids to Claud and Selma (Gustafson) Wilson, she married Elmer M. “Bud” Stube in January, 1941, and he preceded her in death on May 19, 1985. Mrs. Stube was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and was a lifetime member and former Chaplain of VFW Post 3195 Auxiliary. Her SURVIVORS include her children: Michael (Patty Smith) Stube, Sallie (Ron) Thomas, and Dolores “Dee” (Steve) Horan; 10 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law Emily Stube, and two brothers. Leona crocheted an afghan for each of her great-grandchildren, and was famous in her family for her banana bread. The MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL for Mrs. Leona Stube will be 1:30 P.M. Friday, April 25, 2014 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (451 S. Getty St. at Marquette Ave.) with Rev. Fr. Michael P. Olson as Celebrant, and interment in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. VISITATION will be 5-8 P.M. Thursday, April 24, 2014 at The Lee Chapel, Sytsema funeral Homes, Inc., 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI 49444, phone 231-798-1100 where the Rosary will be prayed 7:30 P.M. Thursday. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS to Harbor Hospice would be appreciated.
