Leona Mae Voorhies' Obituary
Mrs. Leona Mae Voorhies, 89, passed away Tuesday evening, September 15, 2015. She was born February 22, 1926 in Muskegon, and was a lifelong resident. In addition to raising her family, Mrs. Voorhies worked at the George Morrell Company and Muskegon Paper Box. She also enjoyed knitting and being part of the Knit-Wits. SURVIVORS include 4 sons, Rodney (Sue) Voorhies of Twin Lake, Randy (Patricia) Voorhies of Norton Shores, Roger (Vickie) Voorhies of Muskegon, Rick Voorhies of Ocoee, FL; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Evelyn Lehman and Henrietta Medema. The Funeral Service for Mrs. Voorhies will be 1:00 PM Friday, September 18, at The Sytsema Chapel, 737 Apple Ave., (231) 726-5210. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
