Leonard Henry Charette's Obituary
Leonard Henry Charette, age 71, of Grand Haven passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Heartwood Lodge Hospice Residence. He was born September 18, 1946, in Belleville, Michigan, to Harry Arzen and Margaret Henrietta (Hahnke) Charette, and married Roxanne Elizabeth Dzieczkowski.
Leonard worked for the State of Michigan as a social worker and after retiring he worked for Meijer as a store detective. He was baptized at St. Anthony Parish in Belleville where he also attended elementary school and graduated from Belleville High School. Leonard loved sports, especially University of Michigan Football and the Detroit Tigers. His other interests were reading, camping, talking politics, (he was very politically savvy). He was known for his tremendous sense of humor.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Camille (Mike Anderson) Charette of Muskegon; two brothers, Allan (Marg) Charette of Montrose, Colorado, and Eugene (Margo) Charette of Canton, Michigan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 8, 2017, at St. Anthony Catholic Church 409 W. Columbia Ave., Belleville, MI 48111. Interment will be in Michigan Memorial Park in Flat Rock, MI. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.sytsemafh.com.
