Leonard E. Noell's Obituary
Leonard E. Noell, age 93, of Nunica left this earth on Friday, April 14th, 2023 to be united with his Lord and Savior. Leonard was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He was born January 27th, 1930 in Alpena, MI to Eugene L. and Cora (LaFave) Noell. He moved to Grand Haven, MI in the 1950s where he met his soulmate, Lois Tripp, who was immediately captivated by his twinkling blue eyes. Leonard and Lois devoted their lives to one another in marriage on October 19th, 1951 and shared 71 wonderful years together, building their lives from the ground up.
Leonard proudly served his country in the Army and was involved in the testing of the atomic bomb as a guinea pig under Operation Sandstone in 1948. He worked in tool and die at Anderson Bolling for forty years and Burnside Manufacturing for five years, retiring in 1998. Leonard was a man of faith. He attended Nortonville Gospel Chapel. He was well known for his love of bowling, camping, golfing, family game time, and working to expand his many special collections. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
In all of this, we, the family, give God all the praise and glory for the blessing of this precious man in our lives.
Leonard is lovingly remembered by his wife, Lois Noell, and their children, Gary (Denise) Noell, Lynnette (Kurt) Gallagher, Eugene (Sue Sennertt) Noell, Jerry Noell, and Karen (Tim) Henderson who have always stood by their side through thick and thin; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and his sister, Betty (George) Hauff. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Clarence (Minnie), Howard, Edward (Marriette), Raymond (Sharon), Earl (Diane), and four sisters: Edna Tiers, Virginia Hovind, Gladys Collins, and Beatrice (Roy) Dietz.
