Mr. Leonard F. Tardani's Obituary
Mr. Leonard F. Tardani, age 84, passed away Tuesday morning, May 6, 2014. He was born August 2, 1929 in Muskegon to Samuel and Josephine (Schillaci) Tardani. Len was a graduate of Western Michigan University and worked as an accountant for many years at Dresser Industries. He also drove delivery truck for Car Quest during his retirement years. Len was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where he served as an usher. He had a passion for sports, especially Muskegon Catholic Central football, and spent many years on the “chain gang” for the team. On November 5, 1960 he married Sally J. Winey in Muskegon and she survives him along with 3 sons, Vincent (Cristi) Tardani of Norton Shores, Andy Tardani of Loveland, CO, Philip (Sandra) Tardani of Grand Rapids; 3 grandchildren, Travis (Sarah Juhnke) Tardani, Sara (Kyle Zimmer) Tardani, Isabella Tardani; great-granddaughter, Madalynn Tardani; 3 brothers, Phillip (Diane) Tardani, Louis (Louise) Tardani, Sam (Mary) Tardani; 3 sisters, Ann Marinelli, Sister Maria Tardani, Linda (Roger) Kolkema; sisters-in-law, Delores and Sharon Tardani; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Martin and Richard Tardani. THE MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Saturday, May 10, 2014 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Phillip Salmonowicz presiding. Entombment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery. VISITATION with the family will be from 4-7 PM Friday at The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey St., (231) 798-1100, with a Scripture Service held at 4:00 PM. MEMORIALS to Harbor Hospice/Poppen Residence or Sacred Suds will be appreciated.
