Leonard O. Wiseman Sr's Obituary
Mr. Leonard O. Wiseman Sr, age 82, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home. He was born on May 2, 1940 to Ollie and Alice (Houston) Wiseman in Muskegon. A lifelong resident of the area, Len married the former Sandra G. Santose on October 29, 1959 and she preceded him in death on September 14, 2006. Len proudly served his country while in the United States Navy. Len’s passion in life was racing. He spent countless hours on several tracks all over the state as his lucky number “8-ball.” Len was well known as a jokester as well as his infamous witty comebacks. He worked many years at Newaygo Schools as a custodian and enjoyed his years there. Len loved his grandchildren and the wonderful time he spent with them. He even stepped into a father figure role for some grandchildren when needed. Len’s great sense of humor, selfless spirit, and caring ways will always be remembered by his children David (Judy) Wiseman, Mike Wiseman, Lenny Jr (Gail) Wiseman, Brenda (Kenneth) McMillan, and Steve (Tanya) Wiseman; 14 grandchildren, Teda, Jason, Kristina, Timberly, Crystal, Nina, Haley, Adam, Cody, Jeremy, Ashley, Michael, Jessica, Jacob; 39 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; “adopted son,” Joseph Hughes; sister, Rachel Wiseman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who all loved having a good time with him. Along with his wife, Sandy, Len was also preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Ashely Wiseman; great-granddaughter, Ashley Plotts; sister, Joyce Saxton; and half-brothers, Tom Wiseman and Ron Wiseman. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00AM Friday, March 24 at The Lee Chapel of Sytsema Funeral & Cremation Services, 6291 S. Harvey St., Norton Shores, MI 49444.
